The future of mobile messaging is here

Rich Communication Services (RCS) is a new messaging protocol that enables much more interactive mobile experiences, with significantly higher conversion potential than traditional SMS.

According to market studies conducted by CM.com, some RCS campaigns can generate conversion rates up to 13 times higher than traditional SMS

Add images, carousels, call-to-action buttons, and interactive cards directly into your messages to create more engaging, conversational experiences.

The benefits of RCS

Create engaging brand experiences

Add images, videos, carousels, and interactive buttons directly to your messages to capture attention and encourage action.

Strengthen trust in your brand

Display your company name, logo, and visual identity through a brand profile verified by Google and mobile operators, allowing users to instantly recognize your brand.

Maximize your conversions

Turn your mobile communications into interactive experiences with quick replies, action buttons, and conversational journeys designed to drive conversions.

Measure your campaign performance

Access detailed analytics such as deliveries, reads, clicks, and replies to continuously optimize your campaigns.

Deliver a native mobile experience

No third-party app required. RCS messages are delivered directly to the user’s compatible messaging app for a seamless, accessible, and intuitive experience.

Verified brand

Send easily recognizable messages

One of the biggest advantages of RCS is the use of a brand agent verified by Google and mobile operators. Unlike traditional SMS, your company name, logo, and brand identity are displayed directly within the conversation, allowing users to instantly recognize your brand and build greater trust in your communications.

Each brand agent can include:

  • A profile picture
  • Company name
  • A brand description
  • Contact information, including up to 3 websites, 3 phone numbers and 3 email addresses
  • Links to the privacy policy and terms of use
  • A quick unsubscribe link

RCS message formats

Whether you want to modernize your SMS communications or create advanced conversational experiences, different message formats are available to support your goals.

RCS Basic

Next-generation SMS

The Basic format is the entry-level version of RCS. Similar to traditional SMS, it allows you to send simple text messages with clickable URLs.

The main difference lies in the verified brand profile. Unlike traditional SMS, your company name, logo, and brand identity are displayed directly within the conversation, allowing users to instantly recognize your brand.

RCS Single

Messages designed to convert

The Single format enhances the messaging experience with images, interactive cards, carousels, and action buttons, transforming simple messages into engaging, conversion-focused experiences.

Conversational RCS*

A two-way conversational experience

The conversational format enables interactive journeys directly within mobile messaging. Users can reply, make choices, and move step by step through a guided experience.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

RCS delivers richer, more interactive messaging experiences with higher character limits than SMS and MMS, as well as support for images, videos, GIFs, and action buttons — creating a more engaging mobile experience.

Unlike traditional SMS, RCS relies on mobile data or Wi-Fi connectivity. While SMS remains the best option for maximum reach, RCS enables brands to deliver richer, more personalized, and more interactive customer experiences.

RCS is a new messaging protocol, initially designed to replace SMS. Unlike SMS, which is limited to plain text, RCS supports rich content and advanced interactive features that elevate business communications to a whole new level.

No. RCS complements SMS by providing a richer and more interactive experience on compatible devices. To activate the RCS channel, an SMS channel configuration is required. SMS also serves as a fallback mechanism: if the recipient’s network or device does not support RCS, the message is automatically delivered as an SMS to ensure reliable delivery.

WhatsApp requires users to download a dedicated app before it can be used. RCS, on the other hand, works directly within the native messaging app on mobile devices, just like SMS.

Dialog Insight supports two types of RCS messages: Basic and Single.

Basic RCS is similar to SMS in form, as it contains only text. Its main difference is that it is sent via an authenticated agent, which allows for the display of a branded envelope confirming the sender’s identity. This format can, for example, be used to send verification codes or other simple, transactional messages.

Single RCS allows for a more advanced user experience. It supports two formats: the enhanced card and the carousel. Both options allow for the addition of visual content and action buttons, making messages more interactive and engaging for recipients.

Dialog Insight currently supports RCS messaging in France only. Additional countries and regions will be added soon. Stay tuned.

RCS uses mobile data or Wi-Fi.
